1) The SLS historic photograph collection
Obtained from a wide number of sources, the Society has a unique collection of over 10,000 negatives covering pre-grouping, grouping and nationalised eras of British railways and many from overseas railways. See sample from List 24 The lists currently available, covering some 5,000 subjects, are set out at (3) below.
Copies of up to four lists upon receipt of a self addressed C5 (229mm x 162mm) envelope with postage to the value of 100g (UK standard letter rate). Where more than four lists are requested please send a cheque/P.O. for £1.00. A CD which includes all of the above lists is also available price £3.00 from The Stephenson Photograph Collection, Bradstones, Charlton Road, Holcombe, Bath, Somerset. BA3 5ER. England. Cheques or Postal orders are to be payable to The Stephenson Locomotive Society
The current price list and the order form can be viewed and printed as Adobe PDF files. A pdf copy of the latest index to the lists is also appended to assist persons wishing to print off the listing in printer friendly format.
2) The SLS and modern railway photography
Many of our members continue to photograph the contemporary railway scene on both Network Rail and other lines in the UK and overseas and these photographs are often used in the Journal. The external sites linked to here give guidance on the contemporary rules and notes relating to known restrictions on railway photography &/or The Network Rail Guidance on UK rail photography.
